Visit the mine with your class!
Kleva Gruva offers exciting and affordable adventures for school groups. Your visit to the mine will kick off with an introduction and a short animation about the mine’s history. Then your students can either take a guided tour of the mine, or explore by themselves using the Kleva Gruva guide booklet.
If you book a guided tour, your students will still have plenty of time afterwards to independently explore the interior of the mine. No matter which option you choose, make sure to budget around 1–1.5 hours.
The mine’s tunnels and shafts are truly awe-inspiring – particularly when you consider that most of the excavation work was done by hand using fire and water! Exploring the interior of the mountain will also inspire your students to recall old legends and fairytales about trolls and other mythical creatures.
Your safety is important to us! The safety of the mine is verified by mining experts before the start of each season.

Adventure challenges
Students battle with and against one another to accomplish a series of challenges that not only require physical strength and speed, but also creative thinking and teamwork. The variety of challenges ensures there’s something to suit every student.
Night walk through the mine
The night walk starts at dusk (or at an agreed upon time). Each group receives helmets, torches and a special task that they have to complete in the darkness of the mine.
Overnight stay in a bivouac
Staying the night in a bivouac is always an exciting experience. Your students will spend an unforgettable evening telling stories around a campfire before retiring to their bivouacs, where they’ll sleep in sleeping bags, side by side with their classmates, in the middle of the forest.
A-frame cabins
More comfortable accommodation is provided by our A-frame cabins. These tent-shaped wooden structures have a solid floor, four single beds and a wonderful woody fragrance. You can either bring your own linen or hire some from us.
